High Protein Moongdal Chilas
A rich source of carbohydrates for energy, Vitamin B1, calcium and protein that repair the body tissue.
1 1/2 cups moong dal (split green gram) with skin
1 cup channa da
½ cup nachni flour
¼ cup oats
1 cup buttermilk
green chillies, chopped
a pinch asafoetida (hing) salt to taste
oil for cooking
For the stuffing
2 boiled carrot, cut into cubes
1 teacup steamed green peas
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 green chillies, chopped
1 to 2 tablespoons amchur powder
1 tbsp oil
salt to teats
For the chilas, soak the moong dal and channa dal for at least 3 hours.
Add the green chillies and 1 teacup of buttermilk and grind in a blender.
Add the nachni, oats, asafoetida and salt.
For the stuffing, heat the oil and fry the cumin seeds until they crackle.
Add the remaining ingredients and cook for a few minutes. Mash.
