High Protein Moongdal Chilas
A rich source of carbohydrates for energy, Vitamin B1, calcium and protein that repair the body tissue.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups moong dal (split green gram) with skin
- 1 cup channa da
- ½ cup nachni flour
- ¼ cup oats
- 1 cup buttermilk
- green chillies, chopped
- a pinch asafoetida (hing) salt to taste
- oil for cooking
- For the stuffing
- 2 boiled carrot, cut into cubes
- 1 teacup steamed green peas
- 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1 to 2 tablespoons amchur powder
- 1 tbsp oil
- salt to teats
Method:
- For the chilas, soak the moong dal and channa dal for at least 3 hours.
- Add the green chillies and 1 teacup of buttermilk and grind in a blender.
- Add the nachni, oats, asafoetida and salt.
- For the stuffing, heat the oil and fry the cumin seeds until they crackle.
- Add the remaining ingredients and cook for a few minutes. Mash.
