Nutritious Oats Vegetable Idli
An extremely popular South Indian delicacy that combines a Oats and Rawa. The idlis make a filling snack and can replace a meal if accompanied by an appetizing sambhar or rasam. Oats is rich in dietary fiber, it helps to keep you full for a longer time, so reduces your cravings and prevents you from binging on other unhealthy food stuff, thereby helps in weight loss also.
Ingredients
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2cup Rawa
- 3/4 cup sour curds (dahi)
- 1 tsp Channa dal
- 1 tsp urad dhal
- 1 green capsicum, chopped
- 1/4 cup carrot, freshly grated
- 1/4cup chopped cabbage
- 1/4 cup grated dudhi
- 1 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
- 1/2 tsp pepper powder
Method:
- Roast oats,when it cool down grind it coarsely and keep it aside.
- Roast rawa , add onions , capsicum, carrot, cabbage, dudhi, ginger, pepper powder, curry leaves, salt and the soaked chana dal and urad dhal ,mix well
- Add the fruit salt and sprinkle a little water over it.
- Pour a little batter into greased idli moulds and steam for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Repeat with the remaining batter to make more idlis.
- Serve hot with chutney of your choice.
